We are proud to present this special four-part series led by our amazing, talented garden team.  You will be guided through demonstrations and  hands-on workshops.  Be part of our Chef’s garden which features unique and exotic varieties that you won’t find at your neighborhood Farmer’s Market.  Take the next step and learn how to garden for your health.

March 19 - Seed Starting Workshop
Jumpstart your garden!  This workshop is designed to introduce you to the basics of creating your own plant starts from seed.  Everything will be provided for you to sow and take home four of TPC’s favorite vegetable and herb varieties.

 

Hosted in the heated Red Barn, 10am - 11am

May 7 - Raised Bed Garden Workshop
Join us for this fun and interactive workshop. Our Master Gardener, Danyelle, will plant up, with your help, our four raised beds, aka “The Salad Bowl”.  In this workshop, you will learn not only about  which plants grow best in a raised garden but also about spacing and design for a productive and beautiful kitchen garden.

 

Hosted in the Chef’s Garden, 10am - 12pm

May 21 - Gardening for Your Health
We are proud to be able to partner with Karen Burr, a Holistic Health Practitioner and Clinical Herbalist.  She will first be discussing the healing properties of culinary and medicinal herbs.  Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to sow four top medicinal herbs to take home and begin your “food as medicine” journey.

October 1 - Get Down and Dirty
Join the garden staff as we harvest chef-selected pumpkin and watermelon varieties to cure for our culinary team.  You will also learn about garlic “do’s and don’ts” and the importance of cover crops as we put the garden to bed for the winter.  This will be your morning workout as you bend, lift, and do your squats.

 

Hosted in the Pumpkin Patch and Chef’s Garden, 10am - 12pm
Bring gloves, a hand trowel/bulb planter, hand clippers, and boots

All classes take place rain or shine, please bring an umbrella if inclement weather.
